Yes, insurance is a requirement for any storage unit. If you have homeowners or renter's insurance, it may also extend to your storage unit. If you do not have your own insurance, we require SBOA Tenant Insurance for your items. It is recommended that customers utilize our plan even if they are using their homeowners or renter's policy, as it prevents your insurance premiums from going up in the event of a claim and pays out prior to insurance claims.
Facility access hours, sometimes called gate hours, are the available times when our customers may access their units. These hours differ from our office hours and are unaffected by holiday scheduling. The access hours for most of our facilities are 6:00 AM-10:00 PM; however, please check your facility's access hours on their website or contact your facility manager as they differ by location.
Yes, you will need a lock for your storage unit. Some locations use specialty locks depending on the door type. You can purchase a lock that was specifically designed for use on storage units. If you would rather bring your own lock, we recommend checking with your property manager to ensure the appropriate size and style of lock is being used. We do not allow combination locks at our facilities (such as a locker lock); all locks must be keyed.
Used this storage years back and great experience and as of today came back and had - Superb customer service , from shoiwng units, calm , cool, collected and SUPER PROFESSIONAL AND DO ASK FOR - FRED R ...He went beyond and took his time as i juggled vairety of choices and he never got rattled or pressured in 1 way and for this just had to give him 5 starts plus . This storage is a keeper as is Fred - Got feeling Fred might be in charge one day if not sooner with that type of help and professionalism added . I'm not impressed that you now have to request to get a cart from the front office, and their availability is questionable if they're there or not during the hours,I like dropping my stuff and leaving quick without having to waste time. There is a man who walks around with two dogs that aren't leashed,I'm guessing he is the security that works on the property. If you're gonna raise my monthly storage price,at least be there from open thru closing time.

I ended up at iStorage self storage because of a client of mine is looking to grow her business, however, she does not have the space currently now so I was tasked as her assistant to go and search nearby storage facilities to house, her items and a simple Google search brought me here but what impressed me was Fred he was on duty at the time when I showed up he showed me around the facility. He was very informative of all the questions that my client had for the facility. He was very pleasurable and patient while answering any question that I had. I love that it’s climate control. I needed a storage unit in January 2021 for a short project. Rick and Joan were awesome in helping me get set up quickly, and I always felt that my supplies were always safe, dry and secure in my storage unit. The unique door locks also gave peace of mind. Plus, if I ever had a question about the unit or billing or my lease, they were always super helpful. I was able to complete my project and although I was only with the storage unit for a year, I would highly recommend them for your short and long-term storage needs. The location is great, and it’s easily accessible. Whenever I do another project, I will be sure to rent from the location again.

Very clean and organized storage facility. Safe from flooding with multiple floors of indoor units - great security and climate control. The covered awnings around the doors made moving stuff easy, even in the rain. They also provide large carts to move items on. All around a great experience. I'll be coming back again if I need storage in the future.

I love my Proguard (Meyerland/Bellaire) . It was bitter sweet to leave, although I know this was temporary, I got emotional turning in my keys. If your looking for a nice, clean and safe spot to store your valuable, don't hesitate to visit Proguard in the Meyerland area. They will take good care of you.

I downsized from a 10 x 25 unit because my kids moved their stuff out. I now have a 10 x 10. Joan made the transition so easy and with the best benefit. I could not be happier with the location. I feel like my things are safe and secure as well as me when I go there late in the evening. I’m very happy with the unit and the service! I highly recommend Proguard especially this location.
I was flooded out during Harvey. More of my stuff survived than I had space for. Proguard Storage was clean, air conditioned, and conveniently located next to my apartment. The hours are good. I recommend this storage facility.

The managers of Proguard Self Storage on N. Braeswood, Pam and Rolla, are attentive to the needs of renters and helpful at all times. Over the last several years (since 2015), there have been a number of occasions when I needed assistance and they have always obliged. There are plenty of storage options that are truly climate controlled, with plenty of rain protection when loading or unloading and with plenty of large, study carts - may as well go to one where the managers are onsight and always ready to help.
We started storing all our worldly possessions here in Sep 2016. The staff have been professional, helpful, and courteous with every contact. The storage is clean, comfortable, and convenient. I would highly recommend this location to all.
This storage facility was always clean and secure. Restrooms are available. The AC was always on, and there are large dumpsters for trash. Lots of button-pushing to access a unit.

We selected this location because it's close to our house. The bonus has been the helpful management teams. Each one has been wonderful to work with: Blenda and William, Terry and Pat, Rolla and Pam. Because there is a team, we did not experience the issue of a closed office for over 15 minutes as we did with another service (west Houston) that had one manager.
I rented a air conditioned unit for over a year with out any issues. The personnel were very professional and down to earth. The facility was always clean. Added Bonus even the storage is close to Brays Bayou they didn't flood during Hurricane Harvey!!
